Support and improvement of life conditions of disadvantaged groups – women and children in Georgia

A social assistance program to support vulnerable women and children under State care was launched in the Republic of Georgia on 1st of April 2018, targeting two regions of Shida Kartli and Kvemo Kartli. The project was a result of the Polish Government’s continued effort to support and improve the life conditions of disadvantageous groups in Georgia. The main objective of this initiative was to improve housing and living conditions of the beneficiaries accommodated in 7 social care homes and centres managed by two local non-governmental organizations namely, 1) Bavshvi da Garemo (The Child and Environment) and2) Society Biliki (The Path).

The project was planned to offer sustainable solutions to the 7 identified social centres, through renovation and restoration works to offer appropriate rehabilitation and standard living conditions to its beneficiaries. To improve the quality and diversity of child and family cantered services offered in a safe and secure environment in which they can live with dignity and respect and integrate easily into society at large.

This project has not engaged in any activity that harms or contributes to a short- or long-term negative impact on the ecosystem or the natural environment. No agricultural land, flora or fauna will be destroyed or endangered by activities related to the project.
